The Opportunity
At DeSales Media Group, the Marketing department thinks differently about what it means to be in the service of our diocese and what it means to engage Catholics in their faith. We look to the future, and we’re excited about the challenge. As a digital/creative agency and brand marketing services provider, the Creative team covers a lot of ground. We work closely with the NET TV and Currents News production departments, show producers, and diocesan clients to create top-notch graphics and media content for TV shows, short-form videos, digital campaigns, social media, pontifical and special events, websites, advertising, newspaper, and more.

About You
The ideal candidate is an expert at executing high-quality motion graphics, forming concepts, storyboarding, animation, and editing. And, they can do so for a wide range of projects, working across platforms and many mediums and channels. They are a self-starter with a passion for all things visual. They are an expert user of typography, color, and music to convey the message in each animation, and are able to identify the best techniques and methods to effectively communicate and target the audience’s needs. They keep all of these projects on schedule. This talented person is able to raise the bar and push creative limits, learn new techniques, incorporate new ideas in each project, and have a hands-on and enthusiastic attitude, ready to dive into modern Catholic culture and emerge with attention-grabbing animations. The perfect fit for this role will work in multi-disciplinary teams, and interacts closely with internal managers and producers to discuss the details of a project. They have excellent communication skills and the ability to produce high-quality graphics in a very fast-paced and creative-focused environment.

Your Responsibilities

  • Delivering on-brand animations based on existing style guides and brand guidelines, as well as brand new projects such as broadcast titles, hourlies, show promos, show packages (opener / credit roll, lower thirds, bumper in/out, transitions), interstitials, and other animations as requested by producer
  • Developing storyboards, scripting, style frames, and video mock-ups for client pitches
  • Supporting the creative and social media teams, working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to create visual materials and executive presentations
  • This role reports to the Creative Manager, who will advise on the development process of concepts, storyboards, and the production of animations and any other projects to keep the visual cohesion and quality standards of all our brands

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in design and animation including relevant professional experience with a marketing or creative agency
  • Advanced experience in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator; basic editing skills on Premiere Pro
  • Deep understanding of typography, storyboards, concept design, storytelling, movement and interactivity
  • Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, advertising, multimedia design, social media engagement, and the latest trends of the digital world
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work within given creative specifications in a fast-paced environment is a must, continually seeking ways to improve processes and quality of output
  • Ability to absorb and apply constructive criticism from peers and client
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills
  • 3D skills (especially in Cinema 4D) a huge plus
