Ministers throughout Brooklyn and Queens to preach this weekend on need for Education Tax Credit.
Pastors throughout Brooklyn and Queens will be preaching this weekend on the need for Albany to approve the Education Tax Credit as part of the Parental Choice in Education Act. The Act expands real school choice by providing $150 million in tax credits for donations to non-profit K-12 scholarship funds and lower-income families that pay private school tuition. It also provides school teachers with a $200 tax credit if they spend that amount or more of their own money on classroom materials.
A Quinnipiac poll this week found strong voter support for the measure. A poll last week by Siena College found strong support among African-American, Black, Latino, Catholic and Jewish voters.
