DeSales Begins Extensive Live Coverage of Pope’s Trip to Colombia

Posted on Sep 7, 2017 in DeSales Blog, Pope Francis, Press Room

On Thursday, DeSales Media Group began its nearly nonstop coverage of the first papal visit to Colombia since 1986.

Pope Francis is in Bogota for a five-day trip that will be focused on reconciliation. After more than 50 years of armed conflict in the country, the government and the National Liberation Army, a Marxist guerrilla organization, have recently signed a four-month cease fire.

Pope Francis told reporters on his flight from Rome that his trip was designed “to help Colombia go forward in its journey of peace.”

DeSales coverage of the Pope’s visit included live video on NET TV with commentary by Ed Wilkinson, editor of The Tablet, and Liz Fabulas, anchor of Currents. Our journalists and outlets also brought real-time quotes and images, some of which you can see below, to their audiences via social media.
